One thing that has remained open and become a popular destination for residents all around central Ohio are the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks. With a total of 19 parks in the system and over 27,000 acres of land, the parks offer free, fun-filled interaction with the nature for people of all ages, 365 days a year.

According to Science Daily, living close to nature and spending time outside has significant and wide-ranging health benefits. Exposure to greenspace reduces the risk of type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, premature death, preterm birth, stress, and high blood pressure.
