When Isabel and Ruben Toledo set their sights on an exhibit at the Columbus Museum of Art, they were immediately drawn to the windows in the new Walter Wing as a perfectly designed cinematic façade for their collection of mannequin silhouettes. “Somebody understood my vision and used the space as it was designed to be used,” gushed Michael Bongiorno of Design Group, architect of the one-year-old Walter Wing of the museum.
For the first time in their life-long collaboration, Isabel and Ruben Toledo chose the Columbus Museum of Art to showcase their work. But much more than their art, the large-scale exhibition demonstrates how they think, how they work, the energy and passion they share, and how their creations are brought to life. The exhibit is fittingly named Bodies @ Work: The Art of Ruben and Isabel Toledo.
