How did you get started?
The idea to open Fabtique came from an experience I had at a boutique in Cleveland. The customer service was amazing, the clothes were modern, age-appropriate and affordable.
I wanted to bring this concept to Columbus, but with a background in business and marketing, I knew I needed a partner with retail experience.
I immediately thought about Amber, a good friend with eight years’ experience managing White House Black Market at Lane Avenue and Easton.
As fate would have it, Amber was contemplating a move back to Columbus from Key West. So we began our research with a myriad of meetings and a wild buying trip to Las Vegas to fill the store with unique clothing, jewelry and accessories.
What makes your shop unique?
Our goal is to inspire women to be confident by helping them to look their best and feel good about themselves without breaking the bank. We carry many brands that you won’t find in Columbus in styles that are current, comfortable and accessibly priced.
By offering a variety of brands, we can accommodate many different shapes and sizes of women, and we strive to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
What would you like potential customers to know about your business?
You will have fun here! And you will be treated to exceptional customer service from our stylists, as well as from Amber and Pat. We enjoy developing a relationship with our customers so that we can get to know their particular style and fit.
We pride ourselves on finding the right pieces and styles that will work for each client, as well as being honest with them about what works and doesn’t work. We want you to be happy with your purchases so that you will come back to shop or just to say “hi!”
